Sprinting
Sprinting, or "running fast," is an excellent way to get faster at short distances. This is great if you enjoy racing your friends and putting in your full effort for a short interval. When exercising, sprinters will commonly jog to warm up and then sprint in intervals with either jogging (fartlek) or resting in place for alternating intervals. Cool down usually involves a slow jog. Professionals integrate also longer distances into their training for increased lung capacity and cardiovascular fitness, though interval training is their focus, about x2-3/week. If you wish to get better at sprinting, it is recommended to include stretching and weight-lifting in your routine for steady improvement and injury prevention. Be sure to exercise proper form and wear the right shoes! See you on the track
